WOW...apparently there are a lot of hateful, insecure women on DeviantArt who are unable to take honest criticism. That's exactly what the site is for; it isn't here so that everyone can tell you how wonderful you are, it's here so others can share their opinions (both negative and positive) to help you grow as an artist, or to open your eyes to various ways of thinking. If you feel the need to attack someone for simply stating their honest opinion (which MANY people share) that this type of makeup isn't appealing for an every-day look, then you have issues. Stating an opinion like that does not mean that it's "wrong" to like this kind of makeup, or that there aren't some people aren't into it...it simply means their opinion (like many others) is that it's overdone. People who take statements like that so personally have issues with insecurity. Everyone has to compliment them, or their world implodes. If you can't take criticism or even just an opposing view spoken out loud, then get out of the world of art.

I agree with this & disagree. I'm one who is against hate towards others for speaking their minds BUT, with that said I don't think it is right to be outrageously harsh on one another(not saying that guy was harsh since I believe this is too the nonsense drama, just in general). There is a difference between hate & criticism which I can handle both but, there is no need to state your "opinion/Critic" if you do not explain what is wrong with the image & how he/she may fix it, Otherwise keep it to yourself. For instant saying the look is "overdone" how so is it overdone? Because I have colorful eye makeup? I don't consider that over done whatsoever, NOW if I would have applied the makeup all over my face horribly I would understand. If you know NOTHING about a certain kind of art as makeup than you have no room to speak or criticizes my work whatsoever.

Just say instead of sugar-coating you thought my comments were harsh/hate comments (which they were not). It wasn't meant to be drama, it was my opinion and nothing more whether anyone or you likes it or not. Mind you, it wouldn't have gone as far it did if these insecure women didn't sit there and argue with me. If you can handle it so much why make a big deal about it in your head and here? I don't get it.

I've had way worse said about my work than I'm saying here, which is childsplay and you won't see me making a big deal out of it. Even if someone says your work looks like human waste ignore or hide their comment(s). It's quite simple. You can't expect to uh, you know, post all your work here and get pretty comments all the time.

Don't flatter yourself, please. Your comments weren't harsh nor did I get offended. I have a blog with 40,000 followers, I hear these things all the time, you're not the first.

I came on and seen all the drama I didn't even bother reading half of it. I would appreciate it, if you would stop. Not only are those other people sitting their arguing with you but you are replying back so that there is making things worse, just drop it. We get your point. End of discussion.

Flatter myself? To flatter is to praise oneself which I am not. I just think you should speak your mind instead of lie to yourself. You did take offence and it's quite obvious. And I've only been replying back to those other people because I stand my ground.
